Flight Prices

Just sent this email to Expedia but wondered if any of you might be able to give me the answer?

I have been looking for flights from Heathrow to Bangkok flying on 15/11/07 and returning on 29/11/07.

As I have noticed that it is cheaper to fly with a connection I wondered if I got the train to say Paris or Brussels if I could save money and also include a city break.

I was however confused when I looked at flights from Brussels to see that it is cheaper by £100 to fly from brussels to BKK via LHR with British Airways than it is to get the same BA flight from LHR to BKK (even the flight numbers are the same!).

Please can you try to explain why this is and if it is therefore possible to get the direct flight from LHR any cheaper.
If it is not possible what are the implications of me booking the flight from Brussels but not getting on the plane for the Brussels to LHR or LHR to Brussels leg of the journey.

Thank You

If you do not turn up for the BRX flight and turned up at LHR you would not be allowed on the flight, BRX would have you down as a no show and let your seat go. As for the cheaper flight sector, its the same in other countries to get conections to UK and to work out cheaoer. Who knows how airlines work prices!! Hope some help?
