I saw a couple of programmes on them recently. I would loved to have seen Peter Greens Fleetwood Mac - he was a genius.

And the Rumours line-up if you are of that generation was fantastic.

Two top line-ups and sounds from the same band.

Saw them at the Rainbow and fell in love with Stevie Nicks on the spot. Shame I had to hear her talking a year or so later.

Did you see the programme on Peter Green that was on recently. Obviously quite brain damaged by his excesses but he came across as a really nice guy, such a shame that he couldn't handle the pressure. As they said on the programme the lyrics of "Man of the World" should have rung alarm bells with the rest of the band and his closest friends

Shall I tell you about my life
They say Im a man of the world
Ive flown across every tide
And Ive seen lots of pretty girls

I guess Ive got everything I need
I wouldt ask for more
And theres no one Id rather be
But I just wish that Id never been born

Break:

And I need a good woman
To make me feel like a good man should
I dont say Im a good man
Oh, but I would be if I could

I could tell you about my life
And keep you amused Im sure
About all the times Ive cried
And how I dont want to be sad anymore
And how I wish I was in love

I'd rather jack than Fleetwood Mac...

Good one indeed.
It's a Little Willie John tune that Greeny redid, and fairly far removed from the original.

I used to get frustrated when I heard people always credit Santana with 'Black Magic Woman', when it was PA Green who wrote and played the original. I even went to see a guitar band a few months ago, and the dude with the Strat who oughta know better introduced the tune as Carlos Santana's before playing it - immediately admonished by yours frustratedly. You can bet he stammered his apology in standing corrected.

This wasn't a bad tune either;

Saw them 12 years ago in the USA and was amazed that they were still alive then, although Stevie Nicks voice was good and it was a good show. God knows what they'll be like today though.

I saw them at The Rainbow way back in the 70's too.
Also when they headlined the 'US Festival' near Bakersfield California - which was a hot one.

I have to say that they were well good both times, but ny more than that and I'd have got a bit bored with Stevie Nicks' posing and prancing in lace with that 'White Witch' thing.
