But he is pulling the app off the app store, apparently he is getting death threats and abuse from people who find the game too hard.

342? Wow. That's bloody impressive. Not sure the update makes any difference to me though. Seems a little slower maybe, so can only help. Don't like the night mode, but love the blue bird. Be nice to have a Flappy Seagulls !!

Was thinking about a Flappy bird meets Honey badger GIF SPECIAL but since that bloody shrimp won WHC there's no chance of it happening.

I too think the update has made it easier, before I could only get 7 I think, then with the update got 24 first go and got a nosebleed and fainted. That is now up to 36, and I'm sure I will have well over 100 in the next few days.

It seems a lot more forgiving when coming close to the edges. But, when flappy birds is getting me down, I switch to The Impossible Game and blitz through that to make myself feel better.
