What is the f***ing POINT?

Just because someone hasn't had the foresight to search through the entire board to see if a topic has been previously raised, they get JUMPED on with 'fixtures' as if to say na na na na naa - you've been stupid

It's just RIDICULOUS

Why?

Posting a million different threads about the same topic is stupid, do a darn search before posting something!

Isn't it just a way for other people who are reading the thread to be told that there is another identical thread where the topic is already under discussion.

This makes sense because the best debate about a topic will be had if everyone is contributing to the same thread?

It's just a bit of house-keeping that has evolved into a bit of a piss take opportunity.

So if somebody wants to discuss a subject which has been raised before then they have to resurrect a (possibly) 2 year old, 15 page long thread instead of starting a new one.
I do agree you should check RECENT posts first before starting a new thread.

No problem with people starting threads to discuss something that has been done before. I just object to the UNBELIEVABLY tiresome practice of picking them up on it with the use of the word 'fixtures'. I KNOW here it came from and the first three or four times it was done it was funny.

NOT ANY MORE

Hiney, I was agreeing with you and trying to point out how extreme some people are with their use of 'fixtures'.

Pointing out that something has been posted already - fine.

Using "fixtures" to point out something that has been posted already - absolute spackery.

What a boring K-U-N-T.
