Seagull_tim on nsc is telling me over msn i should tell you that i supported Liverpool when i was younger.Im not sure whether you will care but he keeps going on about it so i thought i would tell you. I don't really 'support ' them as much anymore but more look for there results. I supported them because i liked them about 10 years ago, when i was 5. The reason i think i liked them a lot at this time was Michael Owen had just arrived on the scene and was one of my favorite players. Seagull_tim is also calling me a glory hunter despite them not winning anything major (including League cup) for the previous 3 years or the next 3 years after i started supporting them. Ive supported Brighton for quite a while as well, went to my first game in 2000/2001 season where as i think he only went last season. I'm not sure if he's mentioned that he supports Everton and his email address was everton4life@hotmail.com!

Did anyone else support another team that they might follow the results of now from when they were younger?

I supported Everton until last year when I finally saw sense. I've been to approximately 12 home games this season and bought merchandise.

About 15% of my school support The Albion and about 3% support lower league teams because of their connections including one of my best mates who supports Forest.

The rest support Premiership teams, mainly Arsenal and United and very, very rarely go to games. They would probably go to Brighton games if they were free at the time and it only cost around £5.

If it makes you feel less guilty, the "which team does your kid support" thread is full of various confessions from the likes of me who supporter bigger clubs in our youths.

I grew up as a ManUre supporter (I went to school in Oxford, so only natural), idolizing Eric Cantona, Peter Schmeichel and Andrei Kanchelskis.

Back when we were at the Goldstone, my cousin used to work for the club and would take me to watch games when we came down to visit. I became hooked quickly enough, with the ManUre stuff going out of the window (although it doesn't change my admiration for the players I mentioned, particularly Eric with the whole 'kung-fu' thing on the Palarse fan).

When we moved down here permanently (in 2000) I went to Withdean as much as possible (although that wasn't very often), and I now find myself with a Brighton & Hove Albion tattoo on my shoulder, and coming to the end of my first (of many) years as an STH.

Safe to say now that whatever else might change in my life, my love for the Albion never ever will (although Barcelona are my second team, for historical family reasons).

Somewhere over there...
I have supported Newcastle since I was 5, I have never been a fan, but it was kind of due to Alan Shearer plus a lot of my friends at school supported them.
I only really look out for there scores, *Blackburn just scored :lolol: * would love to go see them play, even though Sherear is still not on the scene.

If Brighton were to play Newcastle, it will be Brighton everyday I would wanna win.

Hi. My name is Pasty and I am a former glory hunter.

Up to the age of 8 and 364/365ths I was mainly a Leeds United "supporter", although occasionally fluctuated to Manchester United if they beat Leeds. My father, God rest his soul, rescued me on my 9th birthday by taking me to The Goldstone Ground, God rest it's soul too. From that day forward, I saw the light, and I saw that it was good.

My God, that feels great to have got that off my chest.

Are you gonna be the new 1066 and Kev?:p

I miss Kev, I hope hes OK:down:

The first team I supported was the team that played down the road from where I lived.

I still follow their fortunes and occasionally turn out to support them in person.

It would be rude not to, after what they've been through...

They lost their ground, got relegated from the bottom division of the Football League, went bust the following season and - when they eventually managed to be re-formed - had to groundshare in a neighbouring county, before eventually being allowed home to play at an athletics track on the outskirts of the city they took their name from.

And Jamie Moralee played for them.
