first post - hello everyone!

i've received the standard letter from odpm but also wrote to a number of other mps and have received this in reply to my letters to Tessa Jowell and Richard Caborn

Thank you for your letters of 9 February to the Rt Hon Tessa Jowell and
Rt Hon Richard Caborn, regarding the proposed Community Stadium at Falmer, Brighton.

The Government is working towards ensuring that every community has access to as wide a range of sports facilities as possible, and the opportunity to use them is open to all. As such, your concern that the proposed Falmer Community Stadium at Brighton is given approval is understandable.

Our Ministers do realise the importance of this decision on Brighton & Hove Albion FC and their supporters but it would be inappropriate for them to intervene on a case where the matter is being investigated by th ODPM.

it's interesting because if odpm says no then they are in conflict with another department and contrary to government policy.

just received this from odpm!

Thank you for your email to Nick Raynsford regarding the planning applications by Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club Ltd.

The Inspector's report into the public inquiry has now been received by this Office and is being considered by the First Secretary of State. As you may appreciate, for reasons of procedural propriety, we are unable to discuss the details of the case. Your comments will however be taken into account by the First Secretary of State in determining these applications.

We cannot at this stage give you an indication of when the Secretary of State's decision may be issued.
