Likely something weird in his contract made it cheaper to sack him nowEvery fan phoning in to the radio this morning saying it's not a shock in the slightest........ really odd they waited until now

Talksport earlier - interview with the chairman. "The manager came to a meeting and said he couldn't take the team any further". So, essentially he resigned, and a 'mutual agreement' deal was made.One game in and Preston have parted company with their manager
Preston North End were beaten 2-0 at home on Friday night by Sheffield United; A Preston statement said: "Following discussions that took place on Sunday 11th August, it was mutually agreed that now was an appropriate time for a change to be made.";
Appropriate time?
As I said, sack him after the close of the 2023-24 season if you'd like, it's the timing that's shocking.Every fan phoning in to the radio this morning saying it's not a shock in the slightest........ really odd they waited until now
Would they not have had that discussion at the end of last season.that was kinda my point re ‘appropriate’Talksport earlier - interview with the chairman. Wasn't he Leeds United chairman a while agoPreston co-director Peter Risdale, where have i heard that name before can someone enlighten me please.
Of course many thanks.Wasn't he Leeds United chairman a while ago
I have no knowledge or evidence of this scenario, but it is possibly something to do with the payoff for sacked managers reducing after seasons? So if, for example, your man from Preston was sacked in the summer, it would've cost the club a lot more than if he was given his P45 after the new season started (in actual footballing terms, not just the preseason stuff)? Or some other clause in his contract?One game in and Preston have parted company with their manager

Crikey never knew that much about him, maybe he will show an interest in Chelsea.

Blimey, whatever happened to the coach driver?Talksport earlier - interview with the chairman. "The manager came to a meeting and said he couldn't take the team any further". So, essentially he resigned, and a 'mutual agreement' deal was made.
Quite the opposite - rubbernecking on their forum, apart from the ludicrous timing, they are DELIGHTED that Ryan Lowe has now gone, although they ideally wanted that to happen at the end of last season. Very much a case of "one down, one to go" (they despise Ridsdale as well). There's relief that its happened now rather than a few months down the line. But he wasn't sacked.Totally bizarre to sack a manager after 1 game. As we are all aware 1 game in the championship is not going to define your season.
Has to be either outside football influences or potentially contractural. Sacked after 3 years left compensation.
Either way i would be fuming if I was a Preston fan.
Was CEO at Leeds when they ballsed up their finances and ended up out of the EPL for 20 years.Preston co-director Peter Risdale, where have i heard that name before can someone enlighten me please.
