Double bill of Blade Runner and Outland at the Curzon Eastbourne as my 13th birthday treat, both 15 certificates but I looked old for my age (still do, unfortunately).
When I was fifteen I started working there, they had an usher in the auditorium for every screening and because I looked so aged I got stuck with most of the 18 certificate films. This was fine when I got to see Full Metal Jacket, Aliens and the rereleased The Exorcist a dozen or more times but I finally quit after having to sit through Rambo 3 for the 10th time.

Cliff & Una Stubbs in Summer Holiday at the Orion, Hassocks. Subsequently remember the giant crane and ball (without Cyrus) knocking down the building. Always wanted a double decker bus since then and almost bought one in 2005 for £8000.

I attended many films as a child with my parents. Solo, it is too long ago to be exact but one film that made a big impression was "Night Of The Hunter" starring Robert Mitchum in probably his most outstanding performance. The cinema - The Ritz at Shoreham.

The earliest memory I have of going to the cinema without parents, is to see "Sink the Bismarck" at the Essoldo in North St. Brighton

Condor Man starring Frank Spencer.

Got that out on VHS as a birthday treat. I must say I think I was a bit young to appreciate it, as were my birthday chums who said it was the most boring birthday they have ever been to. Watched it as an adult and rather enjoyed it.

First film I rememember seeing was Jaws at the dome in Worthing but I have a vague memory of either bed knobs and broomsticks or Mary Poppins or Charlie and the chocolate factory prior to that. Jaws was definitely the one that sticks in mind.

It could have been ' To Hell and Back' the true, but highly overdramatised story of one man single handedly wiping out almost the entire Japanese Army!

On the other hand it might have been any one of a dozen Norman Wisdom films.

Was there an Orion in Hassocks? Never knew that. I saw Summer Holiday at the Burgess Hill one.

First film I saw was, I think, Island at the Top of the World, a few years after it came out at a flea-pit in Seaford. The Ritz?

The most horrific film I saw as a kid was Watership Down.
