Memories of trips to Camber Sands and stops on the way home for a Coca Cola and crisps, only plain or cheese and onions in those days. Usual pub stops were the Cherry Tree near Ticehurst, or the (long demolished) Rock Robin by Wadhurst Station.I think in my younger days the only option was Smiths Crisps (potato flavour) with a little blue paper sack containing salt for tipping into the crisp bag which was then shaken.
Pretty much a carbon copy of all my summer weekends when I was youngYep same here, with a glass bottle of Pepsi Cola in the village pub garden while Mum & Dad were inside…. after one of the weekend cricket matches the old man played in

If this ritual was played out in Sussex, as a kid I’m sure like me you had your favourite Sussex pub gardens post Cricket match, although my dads team Noel Bennetts’s played at a few venues that had their own club housesPretty much a carbon copy of all my summer weekends when I was young
