The very last Withdean litter patrol, the traditional end-of-season tidy-up of the local area, will take place on Sunday, 15 May. For supporters, it's the final chance to take part in one of the award-winning patrols.

Picking up any litter left by supporters was one of the commitments Albion gave the community when permission for use of the stadium was granted in 1998. Co-ordinator Paul Whelch has organised the patrols for the last eleven years.

To take part, meet in the Withdean Hospitality Suite (via Gate 21 from the main car-park) at 10am where Paul will fit you out with gloves, bags and litter-pickers before sending you off along one of the local roads. After a couple of hours return to the suite for refreshments.

The Withdean residents aren't going to know what's hit them once the Albion stop clearing up their neighbourhood. It'll come as a terrible shock to their system to realise that probably 90% of the litter found locally has nothing to do with the football club and is just the usual detritus left by lazy people or drunks or both.

No, no, it will not happen. They will simply blame it on people going to see the stiffs, kids, and Whitehawk.
