They can't be compared, cos it's not a re-make, as such. I'd say it's a new film that has the same name, with similar ideas in it.

Think they're both good movies, though I prefer the first one.

'Bedazzled'. Peter Cook and Dudley Moore replaced by Elizabeth Hurley and Brendan Fraser!

Good calls though on 'The Ladykillers' and 'Assault on Precinct 13'. There should be a protected body of work that you are not allowed to touch.

An odd one is LA Takedown and its remake Heat. Both directed by Micheal Mann, both have the same plot, the first is a pile of shit starring Daniel Baldwin, the second is awesome and stars two virtual unknowns.
