Well I'm one of those 'Bad Fans' that you take so much pleasure in being pissed off with.

STH (along with my son) for the first 6 years at Withdean.

Go to away games only, but will be having 2 x ST at Falmer.

There are an awful lot of us out there.

ditto m3w4, 2 ST with my son at priestfield,5 years at Withdean and countless away games (still). Would you rather people stay away? Hope don't get season ticket next to you pal.Glass always half empty, unlike mine which is now empty reading your drivel.

I have given up counting them, but loads of people I know are in the same boat. Guy in our office supports Man Utd but is going to buy a season ticket at Falmer for him and his son as he wants to get into the father/son going to football thing. Wouldn't do it at Withdean as it's not a proper stadium and doesn't want to put his son off, but will do it for Falmer.

And this is the type of message I have heard over and over again. We will have no trouble filling it.

Taking your son or any children in your family to Withdean for their first experiences of football won't put them off.

My nephew's only experience of the Albion is at Withdean (and away games), he's not old enough to have experienced promotion fever and he still loves the club. It's the people around you and the up and down nature of the club that's got him hooked.

Don't be silly cherub.
I'll only get a little bit stabby-stabby if you're walking around calling the stadium "falmer".

I was hoping to post a picture or cartoon or something showing a chap mounted on a butterfly collecting board with the big pins and stuff. Just so I could say how worried I was about Easy 10 MOUNTING me. Sadly I can't find anything. It's amazing what you can't find on Google images.

Oh, and I've tried to keep away from the 'What will you be calling our new stadium' threads as I'm having trouble calling it anything but Falmer, and I know this will only lead to me being pilloried (as will me pronouncing Amex incorrectly). It's just that we've been calling it Falmer for so long now.
It's not that I don't like change. I'm considering changing my son's name to Gustavo. I don't think he'll mind too much.

The Withdean won't put them off, my 6 yr old daughter and 4 yr old son love it, the free ride on the train, the walk through the 'woods' from Preston Park, looking down through the tree's at the pitch as you walk down, the Haribu sweet stand, the banging of feet of the temporary stand floor, the mascots coming up to the front of the family stand. Despite all the Withdean's failings, coming from a non-league supporting background myself, there is a unique sense of that non-league belonging, and seeing good quality professional football at the Withdean. Of course it is shocking in so many other ways, but we've enjoyed out trips over last and this season.

As for Falmer, far from concern over filling it, my biggest worry is being able to get tickets!!!

Hello, first-timer here ! (I'm actually an AFCB fan, but have lived in Sussex for many years, so have a sneaking sympathy for the Albion...)

I think you have the perfect combination of circumstances to make the move to Falmer a massive success....firstly, the compelling back-story - the Goldstone swindle, the exile in Gillingham, the Withdean years, the long struggle to get planning consent, etc. People love happy endings, and this is a great story.

Then there's the stadium itself - unlike most modern stadia, it looks like it's actually been designed. I'm no architect, but all those sweeping lines look sort of exciting.

And to cap it all, you'll be arriving at Falmer on the crest of a wave, with a very attractive team and a talented manager. It often happens that clubs move home when the team is on a downer, and it's all a bit of an anti-climax. Can't see that happening to you though.

Just a shame that you'll be promoted only as runners-up to AFCB !

story from my end is that i was a season ticket holder at the goldstone and never got one at withdean for a number of reasons . dont like the place , the atmosphere etc and wasnt living close for many years. also , growing up in london , i dont really have many albion supporting mates.i used to do maybe 4 homes a season but always preferred away games would do about 10 maybe.

i am getting a season ticket at falmer along with my mate who prob does same amount of home games as me and also another mate who has prob only been to withdean 5 times ever . he is also getting one with his dad.

getting a cab from our local cab driver the other day , we got talking about football and he said he was thinking about getting 2 season tickets for him and his son, just simply because they wanna watch games together.

thinkwere gonna sell out

Sorry, I'm still feeling bitter about the way you pipped us at the post back in 72....

Well I was only 10 at the time and living in Rhodesia so a bit before my albion supporting days,... but hey 3 points is 3 points, hardly pipped.
