Filing a tax assessment online

Does anyone here have any knowledge and tips about doing your self-employed taxes online?

I'm doing mine for the year 2007/2008

I heard that the best person for this kind of (ahem) taxing job, is Marcelo Salas, as my "little person" in the know, told me that since retiring from football it's been an aim of Salas to get into the tax return game.

Trust me on this, he's the man.

Too right. You've had since last April to do it. You need to register online and they post you a pin number and then you can do the return online.

Yes.
I want to know any and every tip for how to approach it, and things that aren't obvious that I can claim for. I usually get an accountant to do this.

Have you done the £2.50 pw work from home expense? If you are based at home, do you have lunch receipts for when you are working away from home? It's difficult to advise really without knowing the area of business you are in

Look through previous years tax returns that your Accountant has done to see what expenses he has claimed for

any expense incurred wholly and exclusively for the purpose of the business can be claimed- but make sure you have documents to prove it.
