I'm already on the lowest but one - can't bring myself to sink to the "never played a football game before" level. Problem is that I don't really know all the controls - I know that there's a way of doing tricks (LT along with analog?) and a finesse shot (RB?) but it's too much for my brain to take when attempting to beat someone. End up just mashing various buttons and invariably getting tackled. I'm fine on the 'training ground' when there's no-one else to beat ;)

I have a massive problem scoring against the computer as well but then I do quite well against my flatmates whom I primarily play against.

Right bumber and shoot is a finesse shot, I think they have nerfed it this version as it was far too effective but if you approach the opponents penalty box at an angle, steady yourself shoot at the opposite corner with 3/10 power and use finesse (RB) you should be able to score a few from that.

Also I think it's quite important to learn when to sprint, ie. when your trying to run down the wings, when not and when to use close dribbling depending on the situation, you shouldn't be sprinting when trying to shoot or go past a player as you wont have sufficient control over the ball. Skill tricks help but you shouldn't need to rely on them, I know players in League 1 in the online H2H game that don't know what skill moves are, they're just good at creating opportunities by keeping hold of the ball and using triangles to get opportunities up the pitch. Also lofted through balls (cross and through ball) and fast strikers, that's what most people abuse online.

It seems that the AI is a lot more intelligent at making forward runs this version where before you almost always had to force your AI team mates to make runs using right bumper.

Very happy with what I've played so far, the gameplay is very fluid and gratifying- not sure I like this first touch changes though, it'll only take a ocurrences of putting a ball through to your player straight on goal and then watch it clip off the back of his heal before it gets very annoying.

Played a few last night with a mate - we've played a lot of FIFA 12 together and this felt much more realistic, with the first touches and the impact engine both looking feeling far more lifelike.

I think the new game will make it harder to try and do everything at 100mph, as you could previously. Think it's going to be very good. Training bits pre-game are incredibly useful and have made me far better at penalties already.

Co-op Head To Head Seasons (now just called Seasons) is a HUGE plus for me.

Surely it's just about adjusting to that and taking into account you need to have a good first touch? Once you've mastered that it'll rarely happen again.

Why can everyone download it except me, this is bullshit.

Is your trial a Gold Membership trial? you need Gold membership to download the demo for Fifa? Just an idea?

Also, when I made the new transfers in FIFA 12 albion went up to 3.5 star, why now a 3? Maybe we havent got all of our new signings in the above build?

Really enjoying it. Very tricky, and I'm losing most matches as to be expected, but it's very good. I find it more realistic than FIFA 12 and can see myself not getting bored as easily with this as previous versions.

- First touch control is awesome, finally allows for players with skill to be preferable over FAST FAST FAST players, though they can still be useful.

- The commentary is excellent, with real-life goings-on mentioned (Giroud being on a goal drought, Diaby coming in to replace Song, Koscielny finally returning to the bench after injury, Szczesny not being available due to injury, league standings etc.)

- Skills are more fluent, and I'm finding myself using them in this game, as opposed to FIFA 12 where all I would use was fake-shot. Now I'm pulling off rainbow flicks with the Ox

- Passing fluid, and can see possession football being more widely used, though no doubt people will just launch forward all the time with no build up

- Goals hard for me to score! I've scored one, which came from Silva after it rebounded out to him.

I like it

I don't think the demo build contains late transfer window transfers, which might affect star ratings

I absolutely HATED the new defending system of FIFA12 so I'm assuming that it's the same in FIFA13. And for that reason, I'm out. If I cannot beat my friends, it doesn't interest me.

What was it about it you didn't like? I love a well-timed tackle.

Defending is tricky, but as Mellotron says, it's a lot more satisfying when you make a tackle in 12/13 which is a good thing I feel!

I adore the new defending system they bought in for FIFA12

The fact that I could no longer hold X and the defender would do the rest. I now have to time my defenders run and tackle perfectly. I love the simulation, I'm not in it for the realism. Which I know some people are. But I preferred it simple.

Unfortunately, going from winning every game in FIFA11 at our FIFA nights, I went from getting tonked 6-0 every game in FIFA12. Naturally I threw my toys out of the pram like the bad loser I am and refused to play that crap game any more. It's more because I cannot get it, I just couldn't get good, no matter how much I practised.

I would definately go down a difficulty and then come back. Thats what i've always found with FIFA anyway, knowing the buttons helps as well. ;)

I love tactical defending, best introduction to the series ever. People can no longer just bash a button to put insane pressure on the ball, it was so stupid when people bashed that, called in an AI player to put extra pressure on and then used Pressure tactics. The computer was doing all the work!

Even against the computer on the hardest difficulties it was so easy to get the ball back, was boring.

:)

It lets me download Pes 13 etc, not that I wanted to :lolol:

Have you got a Gold account? Those 48 hour MW3 memberships don't count btw, they only allow you online play, not any Gold bonuses like exclusive demo's.

You can always create an account and get a free month, but you have to remember to cancel it before they start charging you, if you're really desperate!
