The new reforms:

Disclosure of salaries

Presidents limited to three terms of four years

Separation of political and managerial functions

New Fifa council

Promotion of women in football

Human rights enshrined

"We stand united in our determination to put things right, so that the focus can return to football once again," said acting Fifa president Issa Hayatou.

"The hard work of restoring trust and improving how we work begins now.

"This will create a system of stronger governance and greater diversity that will give football a strong foundation on which to thrive. And it will deter future wrongdoing."

A step in the right direction?

So now they can get on and vote Sheikh Salman bin Ebrahim al-Khalifa into Blatter's old job. The man responsible for imprisoning and torturing footballers in Bahrein for doing no more than expressing opposition to the despotic ruling family.

Tokyo Sexwale has withdrawn prematurely from the elections.

No doubt he has done a deal with someone as suggested earlier in the week. Nothing dodgy going on there then, oh no, definitely not.

What kind of deal was intimated? I haven't been following this but could see a) he was totally unsuitable and b) he hadno chance of winning.

Nothing specific. He was being interviewed with one of the other candidates earlier in the week and was talking about deals for the African vote or something like that. It was already known that SA would be the only country voting for him anyway, but I found it really quite stupid that any candidate would openly talk about deals in light of the current situation! But then, as we know, not being politically aware of the ramifications of certain actions/words seems to be standard amongst the SA ruling party at the moment.

12 years is still too long for a presidency.

At the end of the day, the candidates and the people voting have all been part of a corrupt organisation who all knew what was going on. They should all be chucked out and new people appointed.

And move it out of Switzerland where they can't hide their cash
