To see if we are up to holding a World Cup.

Bit of a pi$$ take, if you ask me.

Bearing in mind half our Championship grounds are above standard, let alone the Premiership grounds that they will be using.

Not to mention transport which will be good enough for 2012.

Surely they should just be coming to check the bribe money is in order, and rubber stamp our bid.

It is a joke along with the crazy comment they made previously that our bid was not 'high profile enough'.

all stadia need a minimun capacity of 40,000 all seater.

counts out a lot of the premier and champonsip stadia

yeah but Wembley,Arsenal,Chelsea,Man city and United,Liverpool,Newcastle or Sunderland and Villa will be enough anyway wouldn't it? Or did some not make the cut?

It's our RIGHT to host the World Cup.

We invented the bloody game after all!

Yeah, that sticks in my craw too, especially that Blatter tries to help Germany win, vetoes the idea of goal-line technology when we should be telling him to do one and accept it, and curls his lip at all ideas we put forward.
The final was pretty screwed by Holland's disingenuous tactics in my opinion, and I don't see the crucial matches going back to being simply great football contests ever again at this rate.

Stick it kraut, get your scheisse ideas away from our game. :tosser:

Best transport system in the world? That is a joke, right?

Beat me to it. We probably have among the worst transport infrastructure in western Europe. Then there's places like Japan and China which are surely much more efficient than us.

We lack high speed rail, the London Underground is dated and falling apart, and our bus networks are beyond a joke. Most major European cities these days have metro and tram systems that run like clockwork.

We are way behind our continental neighbours in transport.

I actually think its the only real thing holding us back - everything else like stadia, extra facilities for fans, training grounds etc we are (or will be) perfectly fine with.

Maybe a byproduct of the bid, if we are successful, will be an overhaul of the transport networks over the next few years
