Fifa president Sepp Blatter has expressed support for imposing a transfer window on managers.

Blatter believes managers should be subject to the same restrictions that apply to players but do you agree with him?

Absolutely ridiculous, if I owned a club or any business and my manager was not doing the job as well as I expected I would sack him. If they bring in 'sacking window' it will just mean that clubs will suspend their manager on full pay until that time and then sack him.

That scenario could bring about a situation where Hinshelwood lost 10 games in a row up to October but we couldn't sack him until January. ??
Crazy!

So DK would have replaced him and sent him on gardening leave, like Ian Holoway was at QPR, until January and paid him in full until then. He would then have taken that money from his settlement, so a load of rubbish really but you would expect that coming from Sepp Blatter.

The bigger problem than getting rid of a manger is who can you bring in if they're still technically employed by their prvious club until the window?

I think you would be perfectly ok sacking your manager, but you wouldn't be able to appoint someone who was already at another club until the window openned. It's to stop people nicking other people's managers, so it's not so much a sacking window as a hiring window, if you see what I mean.

I heard this on Radio 5 earlier today, i was under the impression it was more of a case that a manager can't leave a club until the transfer window. Bit like Ramos at Sevilla.

Well can a player just resign though?

The club would have to accept his resignation, so if they didn't do that he wouldn't be able to go to the new club.

Why ridiculous? The club having to pay a sacked manager wages as well as severance pay sounds fair enough.

Yes. So? We would have been relegated.

Oh. :glare:

Honourable intentions, I'm sure. And they said that about Guy Fawkes as well.
