Brighton are making their final play for Ferdi Kadıoğlu

That tweet links to a piece which is clearly made up speculation.

According to the news in Sabah, Brighton, who think that the negotiations have gone on for too long, will officially contact Fenerbahçe management this week.

The English team will ask Fenerbahçe about their final conditions and will want to finalize the transfer for 35 million euros.

Fenerbahçe is trying to increase this figure with bonuses.

How the hell do they know what Brighton think and what Brighton will do in the future?

Wouldn't surprise me with another big twist where the deal looks to be dead, and Fener comes crawling back into negotiations as they have to sell him somewhere.

Dut do they have to sell him? Don't they want to keep him?

I seem to recall during the Cucu and Ali Mac transfer sagas fans of opposing clubs says similar things, but we were all sat here pointing out that we didn't need and didn't want to sell.

They like to accumulate endless debt, meaning they're not all that interested in being financially healthy, but missing the Champions League was still a big blow.

They promised Mou he'd get to spend €100m (they've currently spent around €30m I think), and my thinking is that a part of that money would have to come from either Champions League or - if they failed - selling their most valuable player. Along with the player likely (from what we've heard) wanting to leave, it looks to me like he's getting sold somewhere.

Plus he's only got 2 years left on his contract (exp June 26), so his sale value will soon decrease. They really need to sell him now.
