By Eucalayle, do you mean Ukulele ? and if so, what's it doing in a poll about musical instruments.

I thought he meant eucalyptus.

Anyway - anyone who loves Burt Bacharach can't NOT love the flugelhorn.

Since when did blowing raspberries down a drainpipe count as 'music' ?

Quite a long time. Back around 1981 there was a band called Furious Pig (I think they had a track on the NME C81 cassette) whose entire repertoire consisted of three men blowing down long cardboard tubes to make farting noises.

I saw them play live at the Venue in London (they may have been supporting the Birthday Party, can't remember). It was quite funny - for the first five minutes of what turned into a very long 30 minute set.

Oh the wild heady days of yore...

It depends on the song!

Melotron for Court Of The Crimson King, Hole In My Shoe (Traffic) or 'You Can Never Go Home Anymore' (Moody Blues).

Sax for Backstreets and Born To Run.

Guitar for Comfortably Numb, Beck's Bolero, The Paris Match (Style Council), Search and Destroy (Iggy), Story in Your Eyes, Oh Well/Black Magic Woman/Need Your Love So Bad/Albatros (F.Mac)

Violin for You Only Live Twice

Harmonica for anything by Little Walter

Harp Loreena McKinnett and Enja

Drums and bagpipes for Biko by Gabriel

Mandolin for 'Losing My Religion'

Piano for Great Gig In The Sky, Your Song, and Let Me Make Something in Your Life (Winwood), Imagine/Jealous Guy (Lennon)

Bass for My Generation

Flute for Bouree/Cross Eyed Mary/Up To Me/Cuckoo/My God (Jethro Tull), Epitaph, and 'Prelude;Song Of The Gulls' (King Crimson)

i've always fancied being a musical genius, smackhead bassist, who dies from an O.D because he can't handle his own genius

Why do only girls - some of them very fit ones - seem to play the cello? Is it because they're generally more used to fiddling away on large instruments between their legs?
