Richard Gladstone, Hastings Observer. In a piece which touched on popular childrens' game Connect 4, he devoted half the article to explaining the rules of said game.

Closely followed by Richard Morris, same organ.

On a national level, I like Chris Blackhurst of the Standard and John Vidal from the Guardian.

Martin Samuel is a very good journo, unfortunately he moved to The Daily Snail a little while ago and I can't read his columns now on principle.

How Richard Littlejohn gets through life filled with patriotic nostalgia and simmering with anger at everything around him boggles the mind.

I think Robert Fisk's probably the best for news, I like Ben Goldacres' Bad Science stuff a lot

Martin Samuel. He always sees the bigger picture and yet never misses the little details. I also like Paul Hayward.

The late Hunter S Thompson.

'The Great Shark Hunt' should be made required reading for anybody with even a passing interest in journalism. Oh, and drugs and/or violence and/or firearms also. Obviously.

Steve Palmer in the Racing Post.

Has me in stitches with some of his tales. Being woken up and convinced he was being burgled at 3am when his TV suddenly came on at full volume and went armed with a golf club to see what was going on. :lolol:
