Favourite films of this year, 5 if possible either seen at the cinema or on dvd/video.

I would like to nominate 3 genuine classics, brilliant works of art in their own right in no particular order

Cinderella Man

Chronicles of Narnia - The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe
The Machinist

Honourable mentions also for

War of the Worlds
Crash

Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
Wallace and Gromit is the only new film I have seen this year. That is definitely up there with the best, although I can't really judge having just seen one. It is top of my list......and bottom.

I just thought it was spoon fed, American shit. Could have been really good but Ron Howard and Zellcrapper ruined it. Crowe and Giamatti were good but that was it.

Crash was the biggest load of pretentious shite I have ever had the misfortune to sit through. Shockingly over rated.

My best...

Sin City
batman
War of the worlds (shame about the very poor ending, SPOILER....how the hell could his son have survived??)
Machinist
The Aviator

The ending wasnt the same in the book, the family did not all by some miracle survive, even the grandparents, and the son who went to fight the aliens, despite almost the entire rest of civilisation being wiped out and all meet up in a house in Boston that would have in reality been blown to simthereenes!

That was not in the book and it was a RUBBISH hollywood ending.

Thats a very silly thing to say isn't it. Cinderella Man cannot be said to be Utter Gash by anyones standards with 2 of the best performances on the year with Crowe and Giamatti both receiving Golden Globe nominations.

Narnia can in now way be desribed as Dull.

Why do you post such ridiculous and stupid comments is it to get a reaction ???

Crowe was good in it, yes but although its a true story i have seen enough underdog storys that make yanks look great.

WOTW was bad, very bad the acting was crud and that fanning girl needs a bullet in here neck to stop her screaming.
