Hmm, would liked to have gone but I actually can't stand that club. Three times I've been and three times I have had shit nights.

Out of interest was the issue(s)?

Right, quick question from a NOVICE here.

I want to see FBS. Would this be him doing all of his classic stuff or would it be less of a fatboy love-in?

The 'acid party' means nout to me...

Very unlikely to be a greatest hits, prob quite underground/ravey/handsintheair

Digital not the best but music should be good, I wonder how close it'll be to his Glasto set which was shit hot.

There was a free Jack Beats cd on Mixmag a couple of months ago, so should be online somewhere, if anyone wants to check out the guests.

FBS at digital on a thursday though, good chance it'll be full of try-hards, dickheads and part timers.

Jack Beats isn't at Brighton, if he was I'd probably go

Be interesting in the Southend Cliffs Pavillion, thats more like a traditional old theatre type venue rather than a nightclub, quite fancy going to that

Very unlikely he'll play any of his own stuff tbh. You might get a few snippits here and there but otherwise it'll be a set tending towards old-school rave with him on at around midnight at a guess.

And given he has said it will be an acid party I'd be very disappointed if there is NOT an abundance of air horns and glow sticks.

This is (modern) Acid house.

Dance music history 101: The actual acid part of the music is the bleeping part which is a 303 acid loop, originally the early producers used the Rowland TB-303 to create the sound hence the name of the 303 loop (There's also an 808 and 909)

I went to Herve's set at Glastonbury. Mighty fine as well, some great mid-set classic house, acid and rave.

Did you know the 303 was originally a bass synthesiser? The sound was rubbish though, didn't sound like a bass, then it fell into the wrong hands who promptly started messing around and making the squelchy sound we now associate with acid. Well, this is what I heard anyway.

I didn't until I read that Wiki page, interesting stuff though.

It seems wierd that you can get a 303 synth for your iPhone now, but back then people had to spend thousands on all these different bits of kit just to make different noises.
