Why look at stuff like that?

I'm not going to search TwatTok or WhatsTwat for a video or someone getting eaten by a shark. Got better things to do in life. Like watch my fence get wrecked :annoyed:

I had it sent to me.

Unfortunately people share things like this.

It is not entertaining. It is disrespectful.

I still think it beggars belief that shortly after hearing the screams of a man being attacked by a 4.5m great white, someone thought they'd film the rest of the attack on their sodding phone.

Not that I'd expect that person to jump in and try and save the poor guy, but why get your phone out for that? It's just awful and horribly disrespectful. And the poor guy's family, how must they have felt seeing this all over social media? The phone should've been out to ring the emergency services or coast guard, nothing else.

So did I before I knew of the incident. I thought it was some crap photoshopped joke video initially but half way through I realised it was probably genuine and turned it off. Grim stuff

Totally agree though, taking a video is sick and then putting it out there is even worse. Heartless attention seeking *******

I disagree a little. Those investigating the attack will gain considerable insight from the video. In essence, they deemed it necessary to go and try and hunt the shark down. They were able to establish that the attack was not the usual investigative bite then swim-on scenario.

However, going on to share it was unforgivable.

Good article the other day in Guardian about this and how (not in this instance obviously) peoples lives could be saved but instead of helping the millennial generation immediately start filming and sharing rather than assisting including phoning emergency services. You’ve got to hope if you get hit by a bus, that it’s got some pensioners on it. The Yoof will just be sat filming and hoping for ‘likes’

Utterly alien reaction to me and my generation. Think it’s safe to say life was better in the ‘old days’ on this matter!

I don’t care what generation you’re from, no one is jumping in that water with a great white in full attack frenzy - no one. Guy might have just been filming his mate fishing for all anyone knows. It looked very rough seas as well. Awful tragedy. This generation didn’t invent rubber necking, people have always had a fascination with the macabre.

Thinking of emigrating? At the very least avoid all water!??? And this tips for free. Try not looking like a juicy seal when swimming!

I agree but I was actually talking to a retired nurse the other day about this (not the shark attack) and she told me that they were told to be very wary about jumping in and helping for fear of being personally sued if something went wrong even if they were doing their best to help.
Unfortunately the suing culture is another alien reaction to our generation. Very sad state of affairs.

Agreee. Had an acquaintance keep sending me all kinds of conspiracy theory BS during the Covid pandemic first lockdown. Politely requested her to stop sending me that stuff, she continued and after a couple more requests of increased insistence, had to get really irritated and tell her to bloody stop it.

For some reason, certain people seem to enjoy spreading bad news and stirring up shite.

I had a few run in with snakes when I was on the farm but none to speak of since I have been in town. Mostly you just let them get on with their business, get away from you and you don't have too many problems. Spiders are a bit the same, the venomous ones keep to themselves mostly. Its the huntsmen that bother me as they are so bloody big.

What amuses me over here is that with the variety of nasty venomous ******** the thing that most Aussies seem to be most bothered by is the European Wasp (I think it is because its foreign and European - who they blame all their ills on :lolol::lolol:). According to this article the horse is the most dangerous thing over here - or was.

I seem to remember someone filmed, and then posted, the scenes after the Shoreham air crash as well. What goes through peoples minds to do this.
