What an absolute embarrassment of an 'article'.

Based entirely on a throwaway instagram reply, clearly not meant to be taken in any way seriously

In fairness, I don't think the author IS taking it seriously. The whole piece is pretty tongue in cheek and the headline is purposefully OTT, IMO...

King Kayal picked up what looks like a very serious leg injury in yesterdays game for Bnei Sakhnin away to Hapoel Petah Tikva. Injured in the 36th min the player who made the tackle got sent off. Social media posts today appear to show him in hospital and awaiting an operation. Not seen it confirmed anywhere what the actual injury is but it could be a long road back for him at 35 years old.

Wishing him a speedy recovery.

One of my fave Albion players of that era, along with his Jewish compatriot Tomer. Born and brought up on seperate sides of the religious "fence" in Israel ,yet they became great mates whilst playing for us. Warms the heart stories like that.

Get well soon Beram.

They have been best friends since childhood and were best friends before either signed for us.

They were mates before playing for us. They known each other and been friends since they were kids in Maccabi Haifa’s youth system.

It was Kayal who convinced Tomer to join us when we were trying to sign him.

I remember him being stamped on by Joey Barton and, after the usual complaints to the ref (who inexplicably failed to send Barton off - no VAR), got on with playing the game. Get well soon Berem.

Beram posted a load of pictures from his hospital bed, on his instagram stories - also a video of the horrific tackle, and pictures of his team-mates in tears on the pitch. Not great.

All the best King Kayal. Hope you make it back onto the pitch.
