As a one time Labour supporter, cured by Blair I moved to THE Lib/Dems,since their sharing power with the Tories I will give UKIP a chance.
When the dust settles, and I think it will take decades, I think people will remember Blair for Iraq of course but also the success he enjoyed on his domestic policy.
You're entitled to your views Simster but I think in this thread you are in the minority...'Why do you think we would not be better off out of the EU,it cost us £50m a day for membership,we import more from the EU than we export to them. The Euro is a failed currency, which if we were using the Euro we would have to bail out. The whole system is corrupt, another Government building was built in Strasbourg to please the French costing millions and it has only been used twice. It's job for the boys...aka Kinnock family, wife and both Siblings have jobs, with secretaries, expense accounts. We actually had a great trade deal with the Commonwealth...so please give me your intake why we would be better off joining the EU,Thanks. The main point is that he believes our interests would be better served outside the EC. I don't. The rest is just gravy. That rant at Blair was f***ing embarrassing and if Blair had been a better politician would have absolutely ruined him there. Sadly, Blair is the Sven Goran Eriksson of the political world - quite highly rated at the time despite not actually doing much, and history will not look kindly at him as a consequence of his woeful underachieving.
Farage is right about the Euro's bail-out plans though. Smoke and dagger merely deferring the problem. Ultimately someone, somewhere needs to actually PAY to sort out the mess.
