They must have had a serious change over the last few years. They have always been superb value but their after sales used to be appalling - especially with regard to PCs. At one point they limited the hours you could call their customer support line to between 10am and 2pm - naturally you could never get through and it cost them a lot of business at the time as they got panned for it.

As for the comments on Dell, for your average punters who don't know much about PCs and don't have any specialist requirements (High end gaming or graphics) they are fine and the support is usually good. The battery story only effects laptops and the batteries actually came from Sony.
