What was that all about?

I may have misheard as I was cooking dinner at the time, but I'm not sure he actually answered the question correctly.

The fan asked if a 1901er can buy an away ticket and give it to someone else. They can.

PBOBE answered that 1901 fans collect loyalty points in the same way as everyone else (true), but if they can't attend an away game they have bought a ticket for then they speak to their 1901 host (or similar name).

The fan was correct - a 1901er, assuming they have sufficient loyalty points to buy a ticket, can give that ticket to anyone they like. They have to name the person who will be using the ticket at the point of purchase.

I'm not sure 1901ers have any special rights if they buy an away ticket and can't attend, which is the same as other fans. Which is a point of contention for many, including me - I've had Spurs and Bournemouth tickets this season that I could not use and just went to waste, as well as having friends who couldn't attend `Brentford - again the tickets were just wasted.

I’ve been to a lot of these fans forums and refrained from asking my usual nonsense question. However, De Zerbi walked past me on his way to stage. I’ve never seen an Albion manager with his ‘presence in a room’ before. The hair stood up on the back of my neck. He just has that X factor. Can’t put my finger on it but he is just an astonishingly inspiring in person.

That’s my understanding but PB did add something about “speaking with your 1901 Account team”

So you didn’t get the bit where he said quite clearly that there is nothing that could pull him away from Brighton if he was happy at Brighton and that he was not ‘career’ orientated? - ( I took that to mean he wasn’t motivated to leave a club just for the prestige and better money if it came along.)

I think you are doing him a disservice if you are suggesting he‘s waiting to see what offers come in before leaving - I think he is waiting to see what PB/TB’s strategy is for next season before committing to stay. He’ll be far more in demand if he stays and gets us a qualifying place back in Europe.

RDZ is a craftsman. Give him time, the right workshop and tools and he’ll produce magic. It’s whether he sees this being provided by the Albion. Craftsman aren’t driven by money.

I'd imagine that during the job interviews RdZ was given a clear structure of our spending and wages. That is a constant.

Everyone seems quite chipper that he will turn up for work IF he's happy about it next season. I might try this at work tomorrow as well as a bit of brutal honesty with my colleagues and see how my day goes.

Seriously though, I think Barber did exactly what was needed by putting Roberto before the fans on the forum - it gave him an opportunity to communicate to fans about what he is about without having the press dictate the agenda or put him on the defensive. I’m only sorry I couldn’t have been there physically - It was a very important intervention by the Club I think and De Zerbi handled it well - probably did him some good being in the room with some fans too.

Brutal honesty.

In my opinion, we have a manager who could inspire his team to win the Premier League but he is just too honest, emotionally. If he does not believe he has the right players to succeed, he really struggles. He can’t be disingenuous and perhaps ‘professional’ like Potter could be.

If we’re not going to give him these players in the summer, it’s clearly best for everyone that he moves on.

However, if the club targets top 6, Europe and a cup final and provides him with the half dozen players he needs (and I’m talking about the likes of Ross Barkley & KDH not Rodri or KDB) then there is not a better manager for this club.

I agree with you, but can't see the club signing the number and quality of experienced players he wants and needs. It'll probably be a halfway house that'll end in tears. . sadly .
