If (god forbid) we dont get falmer ,but were offered say sheepcote , would it be the end of the world ?
Just looking at the other clubs who have built new grounds and quite a few of them are a fair distance from the nearest train station Derby ,Reading, stoke,Middlesbro, wigan, hudds, oxford , They all seem to cope with it ... Think we could as well if it came to be the case

It wouldn't be the end of the World. So long as we were offered a site that we could afford. Sheepcote I believe would need substantial preparation before any building could take place.

I have to say it pisses me off when I drive past the Station site to think the council gave it to a supermarket. The site is a lot bigger than I first thought and it would have been great to have the ground right in the heart of the city!

Ho hum..

According to Lord B there aren't enough buses in Brighton to provide the bus service to Sheepcote Valley without impacting the regular services. This won't happen at Falmer because of the railway connection. I expect Lord B can probably explain it better.

This is a turn up for the book. Has there been a sea change of views?

It is really up to the Albion Board to make any change of decision about the location.

If the Albion need any more information, I can provide it.

The object is to provide the best possible stadium for the best possible cost in the best location with the best chance of success.

It ain't Sheepcote, it is public open space with rotten transport connections. And it is not in the Local Plan meaning another Public Inquiry. It is not in a central location either.

It must come to the crux about now. Do the Albion pursue the Falmer with about a 50% chance of success? (incurring the costs of the reconvened Public Inquiry).

This is a matter for planning and financial experts and consultants to decide. Thats what they are paid for.

From the supporters point of view, I cannot see anything wrong with Pende. It is a bigger site, no need for Park 'n ride, the railway station option is open, it can fulfill all the transport criteria.
There is room for the Football Academy football pitches and much more as well.

It is in a "deprivation indices" area as well with 25% of all the deprived wards in West Sussex right next door.

No it would be great! We would have a much better chance of expanding it in the future. The boys from Whitehawk would have less distance to travel as well! :lolol:

jesus f***ing christ I WAS JOKING!

I've been 100% behind Falmer since day one and if it gets turned down or another site recommended then I'd be in favour of a ground IN BRIGHTON!

As amazing as it would be to live within walking distance of a ground at Pende/Cement Works and as good as a ground at the Cement works would be....it just would'nt be right playing so far outside Brighton itself........so THERE!

Crabtree, you should have put a :jester: or a :lolol: or a :drink:

I still don't like Sheepcote. It is a pig of a place to get to. And the only way is via Falmer.

And there are a whole lot of rules about not building on public open spaces like Sheepcote as well. It is not a credible alternative, not with the transport problems as well. But, apparently, this was not explained enough to convince the Inspector (Collyer) at the Public Inquiry.
