Having read Coppell's comments it is clear that the Falmer residents and anti stadium brigade are squeezing the club until the pips squeak or have got us with a vice like grip of the balls.

They and they alone are directly responsible for us having to sell Zamora " on the cheap ". They indirectly may have cost us our Div 1 survival as we did not have the money to compete on a level playing field.

The application has cost I believe around £ 2 000 000 and the public enquiry has cost at least £ 500 000.

To just be able to survive at all in this environment is a miracle and a testament of the great things Dick Knight is doing.

We have had no help at all from anyone, the football league, the council, they have made things as difficult as possible for this club to thrive or even survive. Hopefully Norman Baker will pay the ultimate price at the next election.

70% + people want and demand this stadium in the Brighton area. The club has been around for over 100 years. Selfish people with their own agenda and mis truths are trying to kill this club.

If we do not get Falmer and very soon, they will suceed. They however have not reckoned on the determination and resiliance of the Albion supporters. Its over to you Brighton council and John Prescott.

I agree with your sentiments GG, the bureacracy of trying to get Falmer has cost us bad. On a brighter side when it gets the go ahead (Come on Prezza, you know you want to OK it!) things will look much brighter for the club. We will have secured our future as a football club. At this stage hopefully people will recognise this, and we can pull in extra investment from business etc.

Sorry mate, but we cannot expect everyone to see things our way. However, strange that may appear!

You only have to look at the reaction on the news to the M25 being widened in places! Anyone who drives on there can see there is a major problem. But, when the government want to attack the problem, you would have thought that they were trying to wreck the world.

The fact of the matter is that nobody wants anything to be built in the south-east at the moment!

Therefore, it was always going to be a major effort to get the new ground built anywhere. The problem is, that the money being spent, and it is not a great deal in terms of the excersise, is the sort of money that is needed. Ok, a small amount could have been saved by proper management of the process, but the fact is that Dick Tight and his Board do not have the sort of money that is needed to get this off the ground, and keep the club going in the interim!

Don't forget, we are still years away from the ground being ready for use, even if it is approved! How does Dick Tight intend to finance things untill then? By all accounts, this season's season ticket money has already been spent.

There's a world of difference between the M25 extension and the Falmer stadium.

Firstly, the government said they would not widen motorways, so there's a reaction to them going back on their word. No-one has gone back on his word on Falmer.

Second, all the evidence suggests that widening motorways does nothing for traffic congestion in the long run - there's plenty of evidence to support the economic benefits of a football stadium within a community.

Thirdly, the Falmer stadium was backed by a majority of Brighton residents in a manifesto - there was no public clamour for the M25 to be widened.

A small minority of residents has held up the plans for the stadium but, hey, that's a democracy for you.

Other than Prescott who would like a few hundred thousand houses built on green fields.

It is a bit like saying it was all Stoke's fault for Albion getting relegated last season.

I am fed up with all the excuses. The Planning and Development game has always been the same. It is up to Martin Perry to do his job and if he fails just like a failed Manager he should be shown the door.

If he succeeds he get the praise, short lived it may be.

I'll go along with that about Perry but there are certain parties in this town that do not want this stadium built and they will do anything to stop it, its a hard case to fight but the club have done it pretty well so far....

I agree with Chapman about certain people whop are opposed to the stadium under all circumstances (I have checked it out) but they do not come from Brighton and Hove.

I'm sorry but if we don't get Falmer, I shall come over with a load of rioting frenchmen and go on the rampage. I will not stop until I reach Prescotts office and then some. I feel then a trip to Falmer village would do nicely and start world war three :smokin:

Have DK & Co,. put their life savings into Falmer? We know they have sold the family silver (BZ).

At the shoot (shooting live ducks flying up from the pond).
A duck is walking along the road.
The Frenchman points his gun at the duck.
The Englishman says "You are not going to shoot that are you?"
And the Frenchman replies.
"No, I am going to wait until it stops!"

I know we are sending (or have sent?) sacks of letters that we ALL wrote (you did did'nt you?) to Prescott - but what about other planned shows of support for Falmer?

Surely when D'Day comes we've gotta be standing outside outside 11 Downing Street or the House's Of Parliament so that when the decision is made we can go absolutley mental...whichever way it go's!
