Mark E Smith at the Old Market

I suspect that some of the Faithless fans, might not agree with you Buzzer.

What day's that then? Got tickets for The Fall at the Pavilion Theatre next Saturday 31st? Is it the same gig rescheduled or something? Or are they playing Brighton twice? Or is the Old Market another name for the Pavilion Theatre? More questions than answers for sure

Ah. Right-uh!

Fell in love with Mark E Smith and all his little elves right from the very first time I heard him pronounce: 'We are The Fall! Northern White Crap That Talks BACK!'

We are not worthy. Fact.

Agree. Can't remember the name of the pub round the corner from the Old Market but apparently Mark E has been known to drink there before and after a gig and my mate knows the landlord so chance of a lock in. That would really make my year. It's not even April yet and already I've shaken hands with Nick Cave and I could be glassed in a pub by Mark E!

Oh, and I've rediscovered how f***ing cool The The and Throbbing Gristle were. I'm in a real retro mood at the moment as I am listening to Nitzer Ebb and Kraftwerk too.

We were so f***ing lucky to be impressionable teenagers when all the really really good music was around.

Shocking!

They have got some of the best clubbing songs going!

Perfect for a bit of pre match insperational music!

Knowing me as you do Ali you'll probably find this strange, but I can't stand Faithless.

Wedding Present - nuff said. I could never get into Cinerama in the same way. They kind of lacked the pissed off indignation that the Weddoes had.

Can I recommend a band if you haven't heard of them before - Art Brut. A big big big nod to the Fall but also Morrissey/Cocker influenced and with a kind of Sultans of Ping comedy rock too. The lead singer is just made for big things.

In my car right now I have a mix tape, that I found in my garage last week. Is was passed to me by Bennett Dean, who is now the Albion photographer, in about 1987.

The Wedding Present
Soup Dragons
Go-Betweens
the Smiths
The June Brides
McCarthy
Orange Juice
Brilliant Corners

Are you just a tout?

No, but a friend is. If you want to see them you have to pay tout prices or listen to your mates saying how good they were.

The fact that I don't drink, don't do drugs, and am gay might suggest a few problems with your theory there Ali.
