I think we all want to see the game be skewed in favour of attacking and the current quality of football is much better served by not being able to employ a tactic where you just boot players up in the air and the referee waves play on.

Yeah I do enjoy them while they are here, but could imagine after a while it will get tiresome seeing this immerging talent just get plucked off.
Add to that one day the well might run dry, we are a progressive club with a clear plan I accept that, but I also would like to see us win something of note before I die, all very well saying I used to watch young Barco or whoever when he was learning the ropes, so what !! so did other parents of his school football team, lovely memories but nothing to show for it.

I want a trophy before I die.
Hang on in there, it's coming.

Probably been covered, but i'd hope the club will have an immediate buy back option like they do with Undav.

Yeah that's how i'm seeing it. FH's system doesn't have an advanced 10. Also wondering where Enciso fits into it. Rotation with Mitoma perhaps?
Yes, this is what I see as our challenge this year in terms of fitting Enciso in, let alone Facu.
I think FH will rotate Enciso with Mitoma on the left and Adingra and Minteh on the right.
We have three players vying for the centre forward position in Welbeck, Pedro and Ferguson ( when fit), but agree that Pedro may be able to play a more advanced midfield role.
We still need another addition apart from Gomez, in my opinion.

I really don't want Buonanotte to leave. He's got so much potential, and I think being thrown in at the deep end last season (i.e., being used more than he would have been had so many other players not been injured) will prove to have been the making of him. I think he's gonna tear up whichever league he starts the season in.

All that said, Dutch fans on Twitter are saying that the buy clause is €16m and that that's more than double the highest fee Feyenoord have ever paid for a player. So they seem to think there's next to no chance of them actually buying.
16 million is waaay too low! we should at least recoup our 1.8 billion!

You’ve forgotten Osman. And ACD. Great depth.

Everyone seems to have forgotten ACD. I’ve seen plenty of suggested permutations for next season but he’s almost never mentioned, despite his performances in Japan, and the goals he scored. Is the feeling that he’ll go out on loan? I presumed he was keen to come here because he was fed up with not getting a look in at Arsenal, and wanted first team action.

Getting rid of goal scorers and goal assisters (Facundo) in Japan seems to be a very bizarre route to be going down to me…..

Will be many months before March is up to speed again, so I for one am fully expecting ACD and Minteh to alternate on the right wing until January at least, and then we’ll see if a loan materialises. I think he’ll surprise many this autumn.

Naylor on board with this story.

Seems to be a lot more than a rumour.

Really?

Naylor isn’t “on board“ with anything - he is just linking to a comment he made in one of his own articles ffs.

The NYT and the Athletic (that Andy Naylor writes for) are basically the same media source.

This is what the Tweet linked to - Naylor’s own comment in the Athletic story on BHA’s performance in Japan:

Buonanotte, linked with a loan move to Feyenoord, came on for the second half of both matches in Japan as a central midfielder, rather than as a winger or further forward centrally. The 19-year-old provided two assists against Verdy, with an inviting cross for Adingra to volley in at the far post and a run that ended with Sarmiento slotting in his second goal of the trip.”

Sorry for those that are paywalled but the above quote is literally all that was said by Naylor himself in the tweeted link.

EDIT - that sounded a bit harsh but it wasn’t directed at @Hugo Rune rather expressing my annoyance at Andy Naylor for being somewhat of a twat for shamelessly click baiting his own article and telling us nothing.

Nothing we didn’t already know.
Naylor only posts 'links' these days when he's been given the nod by the club.

Same thing happening with Undav isn’t there? Option to buy which includes a buy back clause just above the amount of the loan to buy.
Just like in the case with Undav, I call bollocks because it just doesn't make any logical sense whatsoever.

I agree with all this but think that we only need one athletic box to box midfielder playing alongside a genuine attacking midfielder.

We need that KDH signing still. I think Ferdi Kaıdioğlu could play both centre midfield roles (box to box and CAM) as well as the right back or right wing back role.

That’s probably fair. And there’s Hinshelwood of course who we don’t really know how he’ll go in MF. But the problem is we need a RB as well as a CM!

We missed him a lot last season, genuine attacking player (RB or CM) who had an eye for goal. Hope the manager has been reviewing last seasons videos.

ACD? Looks to me like he could already cover right wing.
He’ll rotate with Minteh but he can also play on the left and in attacking midfield so a useful versatile player for sure. I suspect by the end of the window, we will have whittled some of these wingers down. Btw, In my post above, I was largely referring to players in the post I quoted so excuse me but it is hard to remember to mention every single player we’ve signed or brought back in, in every post I type - my bad 🙂

On bench today which would seem strange if deal progressing.

Could be that the Enciso injury is a bad one and has killed the deal as FB will be needed as option for next few months or so.

Encouraging.

I think we’re covered for wingers with Minteh, March, ACD, Mitoma and Adingra. Buonanotte offers more in the centre than Osman at the moment.

Facundo’s development might be a little slower staying as he’ll surely be mostly on the bench if we hit our transfer targets. But currently he may well be a starter and is of more use to the squad than Osman who could really soar with Champions League football.
