I think there are probably a fair few players from England sitting at home watching thinking 'I could do better than that',Including me.

Zamora ruled himself out through injury so it's not relevant. I think there are only two players who can count themselves unlucky and they are Walcott and Campbell. Wright-Phillips is a waste of space, a role equally filled by the ineffective Lennon.

At least they have been involved in the build up. It's ridiculous to start naming English players who 'could do a better job' when they have never been involved. Thank heavens we don't have duffers like Downing there!

I don't actually think this squad could be improved at all, which makes this shambles of a World Cup even worse.

There are lots players from our leagues who would love to play for england and should be given a chance, the tired ole format of lampard, gerrard, rooney, terry etc etc should be got rid of, we need fresh blood, a young fresh manager with ideas, who wont include has been players like heskey, who could nt score if he was in the goal, what we need is a mass cull all round

Inspiring words but exactly where is the substance behind them? Which players currently not there do you think would have improved the squad and which young manager do you think should be in charge? Rooney has had a shit tournament so far but I can't think of any manager that would not have played him in those two games. In fact, if we had a manager that had not taken Rooney to the world cup I would probably be even more despondent. Which English players are better than him (on form obviously)?

Other than the fact HE called Capello and said he will not be fit for the tournament due to injury? Good shot:stupid:

thats wrong, Capello called him to dicuss the injury and decided against picking him. Fact is if he was fit he would've at least made the initial 30-man squad.

ether way............not fit and or injured though....thus......shall i continue

one thing we can all agree on is that Booby would've put 110% in for his country just as he did when he was injured for FUlham in the semi & final Europa matches, blatantly not fit in either of those but still tried his hardest for his team and that says alot. Whether he's good enough for England (right now I say yes based on last nights performance!) is a tough call but I personally believe he would've given something to the England squad.

this

its the best squad and he is virtually putting out his best team - the fact that they are not good enough says everything you need to know about english football
