Facebook- I don't understand

Over there
Why do people feel the need to share so much crap with everyone. Whole holiday albums, photos of cakes they've just baked, what they've just had for lunch and for me even worse, photos of their small children and babies in the bath.
Now, I'm on Facebook as well and as such can't be too judgemental but I never share personal stuff.
I'm just trying to understand why people do it.

You could say that yes OR more like everyday? :lolol:

I've got in a dick in my brain, yeah f***ed in the head.

Your a personal facebook highlight for me. Makes a change from the miserable suicidal shite, Pictures of people wankered on nights out & their f***ing ugly ugly children.

I have a vivid imagination, however my status today did overstep the line.

And also while we're at it, Facebook friends, what's the point. You have a small group who are actually friends in the real world and on line and the rest are colleagues who never talk to you, then they request to be friends on Facebook, then continue not to talk to you in the real world. Then there are the lost friends and ex colleagues who make a friends request and then never talk to you or respond to a message.

You think having people you "kinda" know is bad?!

Left my facebook logged in around a mates house, he then went through the "People You May Know" list on the side, adding 80 people. I knew about 5 of them.

It’s exactly the same with “Linked In” – you get requests from people you have never heard of because they have a connection to a connection to an ex-work colleague. It’s completely pointless accepting them because they would be of no use in getting a new job etc. as most of the time they don’t even work in the same area of work as you do. People seem to end up with hundreds of useless connections. Oh well – I guess it keeps them happy.

Facebook is good for what it does. But I do agree people put far too much about themselves online these days. Facebook is a stalkers dream. Creepy when you think about it. My advice is use all the private settings that are available. Then only people you are friends with can view photos, info etc.

I joined Facebook in 2006. It was useful then. Gave up for a few years during my depressive stage as it didn't help seeing all those happy people and happy snaps. I also got fed up with the bollocks of Fortune Cookies/Texas Hold 'Em/Am I fit?/etc.

Really useful for me to keep in touch with people, as due to my hearing problem, I can't phone people. Also good to connect with people I would not necessarily ring to chat/communicate with i.e. mothers of friends/old associates and so on.

I should probably have a cull of people I don't know particularly well that are able to see my intimate musings. Very handy for arranging events and so on.

Granted, it is lazy keep in touch, but it suffices.

Facebook. Like!

Although there are obvious downsides. A poster on here asked me "Who was the hottie with you?" when I was not with a hottie and at the football. My ladyfriend was able to see that question!
