What a suprise that the game they've chosen once again is Northampton v Leeds.

Surely they should have a game where an upset could happen, such as Grays v Carlisle or Droyslden v Darlington which would be better candidates for games I'm guessing rather than the big wankathon for the Leeds fans to endure again.

No doubt their second round game is Histon v Leeds.

Setanta = shit

Indeed. Leeds (if they win) will play three games in the first two rounds, and Setanta will have selected every single one (Histon is their selection, whoever wins).

Yawn.

Gotta think from a business view though - lots of Leeds fans, midweek away, guaranteed audience.

I think the fact that they already showed them on Friday though, given that there was only 9.000 at Elland Road who bothered to go because it's the FA Cup said it all.

If they want to think about money then they will definetly lose viewers, where-as if they put on games that people might actually want to see and see a bit of a shock then surely that'll be better.

Do you really think Setanta's figures are going to be affected by lower league supporters who have a grumble about what they are doing for fair coverage of the FA cup?

I believe by showing that borefest again that yes they will have lower viewing figures.

Exactly. And from what I last read, Setanta were struggling for viewers..

Think you might have a point there, last season on a Sunday evening they had FGR versus Crawley...not much interest for that one outside a Gloucestershire village and a fairly large town in the shadow of Gatwick Airport...I wouldn't mind betting that only a couple of thousand people actually watched the game on the telly, anyone with a real interest in it was there.

Then you clearly don't know a great deal about football as a business. Leeds are a "big club". Armchair fans want to watch them.

Exactly, Northampton v Leeds is between two of the powerhouses of the 1st Round and something's got to give.
