I got home from work at lunchtime today to find my boxset waiting. Well fast - I only set up a Paypal account and ordered at 3-30 yesterday afternoon.

So far I have only had to watch about an hour of disk 1 - cup final build up. Its brilliant, I feel like i have had my monies worth already. I was at Wembley on the day and I have never seen this coverage before. Its like living it all over again. The picture quality is great - much better than I expected. Steve Foster is being interviewed on the helicopter as I type.

Well done to Great Cornholio. I am delighted and the Alive and Kicking fund is a tenner better off. If anybody is pondering whether or not to buy a set - go for it. Ten out of ten.

Just watched the first 40 mins - absolutely awesome.

I bought 3 copies - best £50 I ever spent.

'........and Brighton are arriving at Wembley by helicopter........flight number Seagull 1........'

:clap2: :clap2:

Glad the Post Office did their job well and that everyone's DVD player seems to have been compatible so far. Those Tuff Discs are great - 196 burns so far and no coasters. And they look snazzy as well.

I've got some more footage to sort through with the promise of more in the next few weeks so another DVD or 2 may be in the pipeline. All recorded stuff - not commerical. Highlights of Aldershot, Millwall Playoff games and much more. And the club are getting in the act by rereleasing The Goldstone. It's good that this is all being preserved. Brought home today when I tried converting a couple of my girlfriends old videos and the quality is very iffy. Video's can degrade quite quickly when they start to go.

Got mine today - watched some of the '84 cup game before leaving for Withdean. Without going over the top, the picture quality is very good considering it has come from videos that are over 20 years old.

The only problem for The Great Cornholio will be keeping up with demand. Everyone I tell about this says they are going to order a copy.

Thanks again to TGC and also to Ernest.

Fantastic :clap2:

But I have a complaint - I can't find the outtake showing the alternative ending. You know, when Smith neatly chips keeper for a 3-2 win.....

:lolol:

You found that Easter Egg then. Took me ages to mock up that goal! :jester:

Just found another little gem. Highlights of the League Cup win at Leicester with that goal by Stuart Munday. And expert summary after the game by a certain Scottish Manager who was probably in charge of Reading then. I witnessed the first time a man was sent off for being deaf. (You had to be there!)

Useless Manx Postman will not deliver parcels or packages on a Saturday unless sent via expensive parcel force.

I guess I will be busy Monday night watching mine instead of studying.

On my copy Gordon Smith did 10 keepy-ups before kneeling on the turf & nudging it past Gary Bailey with his head as Bryan Robson slid in and garbaged his gonads on the goalpost. :)

Mine arrived on Saturday morning - managed a quick ten minutes before setting off for the match. Then spent most of Sunday watching it.

I was at Wembley that day and as a seven year old cant now remember much of it. Obvoiusly I missed the TV coverage so it was very special. Not ashamed to admit that I got quite emotional watching some of the build up.

Excellent effort TGC - just another small example of the quality and commitment of our fans and what makes The Seagulls such a great club to follow.

Please don't forget Ernest everyone. Whatever past disagreements you may have had with him, he has come up trumps this time! :clap2:

Just got a text message off my wife saying mine has arrived.

I think I will go home and watch it at lunchtime. Luckily home is only a 5 minute drive from my office.
