I got a WhatsApp from a mate of mine who works at Mercedes bemoaning nothing working today due to the Global IT issue.

I did point out that Crowdstrike sponsor them.

McLaren just need to keep their 1-2 through the first couple of corners, which considering how well the Red Bull gets off the line is very far from likely.

Antonelli has just done his Mercedes chances a world of good. He's pissed that F2 race and was highly impressive in the process.

Bearman meanwhile...

Unusually I’m backing the Aussie there, think Norris needed to do that for everyone at the team

Oh and how fun to hear Max being irritated and tetchy, and he just can’t help himself having a crash

Drivers that have defied team orders and stayed out for the win are all champions. Vettell did it, Schumacher did it. I'm pretty sure Senna did it. Hamilton did whatever he could to back Rosberg up in the final race of his championship year against team orders.

Coulthard let Halkinnnen through. He never won anything. Neither did Felipe Massa. I hope this isn't an omen for Lando.

McLaren really did that the hard way. Lando was obviously faster and had they been pitted in order, Lando may have actually had Oscar in ordinary racing conditions as he was clearly faster…Pleased for their one two, but can’t help thinking Oscar was just given the win, when Lando may have actually won it, the team made a bit of a meal of it.…Nice to see Hamilton P3 and Verstappen true to form blaming everything and everyone else except himself…child.

Has there been a time warp, or did you mean Verstappen?

Verstappen is much worse than Vettel

LOVED seeing Lewis refusing to be bullied by Max and forcing him into a typically rash move that we haven’t seen since the season Max was gifted the World Title. He has now done it twice in the last few races. He does not do being challenged and after two and a half years of having the best car he’s being a complete dick as he finds himself second best again.

The F1 season is building brilliantly for the first time since the cheating in Abu Dhabi

Pleased for Oscar and worry that Lando may be a bit of a Prima Donna, he had to move over as he was gifted the lead to stop the Hamilton undercut which would have given him the lead over both of the McLarens, it was all very childish over the car radio, should have just agreed to let Oscar past.
