Whilst I understand erring on the side of safety, it’s hardly monsoon conditions out there, a safety car start is totally unnecessary IMO.

I always wonder why they don’t send the safety car round with the cars for 3 laps to clear some water and get a guide on conditions then do a standing start after that, rather than stealing the most dramatic part of the race (sometimes) from the fans attending and watching around the world.

I've been at Spa when it snowed, on 1st June! the places is brilliantly bonkers.

Its treacherous in the rain and the rain is heavy . . . You get a lot of standing water in places, its really really hard work to drive and stay on track/alive whilst attempting to race . . . . Add to that the fact F1 cars aren't designed for this kind of weather.

Track is fine, visibility is the issue, my in car footage isnt great, but gives you an idea, When we raced in the wet, the day after I think I filmed a bit with the go pro, there was nothing to watch, just grey, with the odd flash of red lights . . .I was 6th I think at the start and there were 30 of us . . . . It must have been much worse further back.

A real shame that but nobody’s fault, I feel they did all they could’ve to get some racing. George and Lando are going to keep my interest in F1 for at least the next decade which is exciting! I hope George gets the Mercedes seat next year but I think it might hinge on Lewis getting number 7. Bottas is a dream for Lewis as he knows he’s better than him, George would be a real threat!

Need to check the T & Cs. I might be wrong but with football, if game is called off before half time then you get a refund. Although just checking the FA website, you get 60% back if abandoned between kick off and the start of the second half. The Albion's T & Cs seem to suggest you get a full refund regardless of when it is abandoned (5.2 of the terms).

Ordered a strategic Chinese for just before 20:00 hrs.

Yeah, it was a crock of shit, they should just have made the race null and void and given no points imo

Delighted I’d say, he was gagging for it from the moment the race looked like it might not be run

I see massive problems for Toto if he is driving with Lewis next season, it could be as acrimonious as Rosberg/Hamilton or Alonso/Hamilton. Will make great viewing but it could well give Max the title if Red Bull are competitive.
