Extra Palace Tickets - The real Story?

I wasn't too surprised to see a few extra tickets available being announced at Lunchtime yesterday. Mate of mine was gutted when he got in from work at 7pm and was reading the website - knowing he had missed his chance.

But he hadn't. He called at 0930 this morning, and despite being 15th in line managed to grab one.

This is clearly not a handful of tickets. Have Palace given us extra? Did 100's decide to go to the Amex instead.

I wonder just how many have been snapped up since noon yesterday?

Thank you so much for making this thread! Almost gave up on trying to get a ticket and then saw your thread and bagged a ticket. Buzzing!

Can't wait for tomorrow! :albion2:

Considering the numbers who missed out, I reckon there may have been close to 1000 if they are still available 24 later.

No loyalty point requirements either - all good

It read "A small number have been returned". 1000 tickets = 40% of the original allocation, can't imagine it is anything like that.

I imagine it's nothing more complicated than a number of the club's friends and family deciding it will be far more pleasant to watch the game from the Amex, rather than putting up with the 'experience' of Selhurst Park, including the joys of getting there and, particularly, getting back again.

The tickets reserved for them will then have been released for sale.

This is exactly how I would have initially interpreted it, however, the fact we have been selling for over 24 hours for what is the most in demand ticket this season, suggests it's more than this.

I am just hoping we may have 3500 instead of 2600!
