[Technology] Excel help with dates

Bit of a numpty with Excel so hoping someone can help.

I have a pretty basic spreadsheet of clients and I'm conjunction with their personal details I have their DOB in one field let's say cell A1 and in A2 I have a basic formula that returns their current age.

What I need to do is to be able to perform a count of how many clients turned 19 in the financial years 2016/17, 2017/18 and 2018/19 to date

Any ideas please

Someone will respond in greater detail I'm sure as its thw cornerstone of NSC but it will be something like =COUNTIF(*highlight range* >01/,01/16, <31/12/18)

Almost but not quite - In my defence I was getting the kids ready for school.

=COUNTIFS(B2:B4,">01/01/2016",B2:B4,"<31/12/2018")

Where B2:B4 equals the range you want to count. The formula can go in any cell

Something like this maybe? Excel even seems smart enough to cope with leap years without any special programming.
