This formation perhaps:

Veltman—-JPvH——-Dunk—-Hinshelwood
———Wieffer————Milner——————
Minteh———-—Pedro—————-Mitoma
———————Welbeck————————
Yes, that's how I imagine it. The way it's listed seems to have changed lately - anyone know why? For instance, I would list it:
Steele; Veltman (RB, traditionally no2, JPVH (RCB), Dunk (LCB), Hinshelwood (LB, traditionally a number 3).
Further up the pitch, I'd type Minteh, Pedro, Mitoma; Welbeck, in that order.

Now the BBC (and one or two on here) have started putting them in a different order, as in:
Steele; Hinshelwood, Dunk, JPVH, Veltman, etc.
Now that, to me, is nonsense - we're going to play Dunk as RCB with JPVH on his left? I don't think so! - and further up, surely we're not playing Mitoma on the right and Minteh on the left? Looking at the BBC's list, that's what it looks like to me.

So, why has something that's been done one way for years suddenly started to change? Any ideas?

(I understand the club's list, as shown on here - I'm presuming that's just done on squad numbers, which is fair enough if you don't want to reveal your plans to the opposition).

Surprised by a couple of negative comments about Milner. In the preseason games I watched, I thought he looked excellent. Full of running, good passing, nice touches and didn’t look slow at all.

And Fab said in an early presser outright he’s a midfielder and an important player for him. I fortunately doubt very much we’ll ever see him at full back again, short of another injury crisis.

I like him in there personally and hope he has a good combative game against Everton’s bruisers. He can put a foot in!
