Worthing
Somebody on the Ireland National team's forum is suggesting a chant of

"Ooh baby do you know what he's worth,
Ooh Evan is the best on earth." :ROFLMAO:
Yep and yet again evidence that those responsible at the club knew what they were doing when hotter heads on here were clamouring for a striker. He has the potential to be the best striker we have ever had. He's that good. My only concern is how long we can keep him, but we can be confident in our great club's ability to handle that and plan ahead.
I actually used the Connolly and Ferguson comparison tonight to explain to my youngest son why he needs to improve his attitude after a less than brilliant parents evening report! I usually find it easiest to explain things to him through football!
I would have kicked him from behind.

What great parenting.

I remember my dear Dad saying the same to me when Oliver Reed mad a tit of himself on Aspel, he said "If you keep pissing it up 5 nights a week, thats how you'll end up"

I thought the general consensus was that Michael Owen burned out from playing too much football early in his career.

There's more games than ever now in todays game, so it will do Evan good to see him eased in with limited minutes.

This might be in this thread somewhere, but I hadn't seen it. Someone posted it on United's forum. Evan - aged 14 getting 25 minutes as sub in a Bohemians friendly against Chelsea. Chelsea's No 15, who young Evan has a few battles with, is cat botherer Kurt Zouma. 24 is Chalobah, 34 is Lewis Baker who captained Stoke in our recent FA Cup game against them. Chelsea's No. 40, who there is a fleeting glimpse of, is an 18 year old Billy Gilmour.

I was at the game - and it was obvious from his first touch of the ball that Ferguson was something special. Why Chelsea didn't snap him up on the spot is a complete mystery.

It’s great that there’s quality footage of that performance to document his brilliance at that age.

It was national news here and Bohs were harshly criticised for playing him by a lot of people at the time. A lot of the ones who generally have no time for Irish football were particularly mad.

"Real" football fans in Ireland already knew they had a wonderkid so were excited to see him.

What age was EF that day?

Was that the Bohemians first XI, players in their 20’s and 30’s?

It would have to be a hell of a fee wouldn't it? He's a striker. Nobody is going to pay what we'd consider. Still there's going to be a hell of a lot of rumours over the next season or two.

Its time like these I get envious of the fans of that club up the '23. It must be bliss hardly ever having any of your players being subject to transfer speculation.
Never mind these pesky £50m+ transfer fees for your players. Much better to have your PotS return to his club one summer, followed by the best player in your club’s history leaving on a free 12 months later.
