With this system that has sensors in the ball, probably yes. It’s still shit though. Too precise if anything. Is it even possible to determine the exact moment of impact in which a player plays the ball in an offside call?

I’m sure many of the players’ wives would love to access that data.It is now with the microchips in the balls for this tournament.
Am not indicating any official did anything wrong but was emphasising the decisions were so hard to see nobody would have even mentioned it post game if they had gone the other way. Offside is offside and at least this one was his foot which I have always thought should be the part of body that is judged like other sports. As far as the hand ball is concerned decisions like this are poor for the game and spectators and the rule must be changed. But the Danish goal was offside so it couldn’t have been given…..and it was a definite penalty. The two German “goals” were correctly chalked off as well. All the big decisions were correctly called.
But it isn’t impossible as we see players routinely tuck their arms behind their backs when defending.Am not indicating any official did anything wrong but was emphasising the decisions were so hard to see nobody would have even mentioned it post game if they had gone the other way. I have just had breakfast with our American guest . He is sporty but not into football but after watching game with me I am today still trying to explain the hand ball rule and all he goes on about is impossible to keep hands down because they are needed for jumping and balancing etc.
Not to the level of accuracy that it's being used for, no. There's no allowance for the time the sensor takes to detect the ball has left the boot (does it even detect that bit or just contact?) or for the transmission and processing of the data, it's utter BS to determine mm of difference based on those variables. Is it even possible to determine the exact moment of impact in which a player plays the ball in an offside call?
This. A forward could travel around 5m in half a second, so trying to nail offsides down to toenails is madnessNot to the level of accuracy that it's being used for, no. I’ve only just caught up with this but why did ITV let him go, in the middle of a tournament?McCoist and Tyldesley are by far far far the best commentary team on TV at these euros, yet it’s the last time they are paired at the tournament…
Oh well, at least we’ve got Sam Matterface
Showing the FA that it can de done.I’ve only just caught up with this but why did ITV let him go, in the middle of a tournament?
