Bit of both. Italy were poor in their group games. The Scotland game wasn't representative of Switzerland's performances in this competition, Scotland scored early with a jammy goal. They've been much better than that in all three other games.

True. But Switzerland are becoming the new Belgium. The Euros are always very open and they are definitely amongst the teams who can win
The tournament tactics of ‘safety first’ illustrated by Italy this evening which Southgate is trying to copy are being well and truly found out!

I think the Swiss have been good. No surprise, in 6 tournaments in a row, they have some quality players.
Hmmm. A decent outfit for sure, but (without trying to get ahead of myself before the Slovakia game) I’d be absolutely devastated if England lost to Switzerland. I’d expect another comfortable win like when we beat them in the World Cup quarter final a few years ago, because that’s what we should expect from the team we have compared to theirs.
Edit - apologies it was Sweden we beat in the quarter final. Sweden had beaten Switzerland in the round of 16.

This Swiss team is organized in a way England simply aren't. If, and it's a big if, we got there, they'd play us off the field.
I'm not sure that the name 'Belgium' has me reaching for my box labelled 'expect success and general goodness'. Each to his own

The Swiss have stuck to the game plan, pressed very well and deservedly won this. The mobility of the front three has been excellent and the spine of the team, Akanji and Xhaka have controlled everything.
Only other thing from this match is that Danny Murphy is a dreadfull commentator.
