I wonder what Southgate will do for the next game. Does guehi come straight back in? He's done pretty well but so did konsa. Will shaw being back mean he wants to start him for yhe left footed balance and experience he'll bring? Or will he pit him at wing back? Back to a back 4?

We've won one (1) game in the whole tournament in 90 minutes, and that was a turgid 1-0 victory. We didn't manage a shot on target until 80 minutes, and the last game we had one shot on target in the 95th minute. We've failed to score a goal in 5 games now between 15 minutes and 80 minutes.

Make no bones about it we've absolutely stunk the place out despite having the best attacking talent in Europe. However we are still in this tournament and given the goings on it does have that sort of feeling now that everything conspiring with us.

I always find it a bit strange when you break character. A bit like when you're a kid and you see a teacher out of context.

England in this tournament remind me of that south park baseball episode. The one when the kids keep trying to lose because they're so bored but inadvertently just keep end up progressing to the next round.

This is a brilliant analogy. One of my favourite SP episodes.

If I were a sheik with unlimited billions to spend on my club team, like buying the entire England squad, I would be ... ahum ... slightly disappointed to watch them play like this. I know it's "tournament football" (or if you like, European Cup football) but they should be able to play better. I would have sacked more managers than Boehly by now. That said, you will probably win it all and Sir Southgate can retire in a month or two.

Konsa was a clear level above Guehi in every facet. Would be madness to bring back Guehi.

But weren’t we poor at LB defensively? In ET, Shaw was nowhere as they created big chances down that side.

Netherlands is the first team we have faced in this competition which I would consider to be of a similar quality to England. That said, I would be surprised if England won against them.

I’d still definitely take our squad over theirs. They’ve got a really strong defence, but the rest of their team isn’t that great (on paper)

Personally I think Shaw has to start. The balance looked a lot better with a natural left footer at left back. Even a couple of times he got to the byline and stuck some crosses straight in. They came to nothing but it was a good sign of what could be to come

France or England winning the tournament would be the biggest mockery of European football since the Greece win 20 years ago. Arguably even worse since they played like they had to rather than what they wanted to. Both France and England are playing a kind of football that would destroy the sport if it was the main way of playing it.

We played 2 teams in the knockouts who did not come to play football, theri game plan was to put everyone behind the ball and man mark our danger players, still won from losing positions which shows character

Switzerland are ranked top 20 in the world, beat Italy comfortably, unlucky not to beat the Germans, the Swiss are a very good side

What amazes me is the haters say the same thing about England and Southgate, get it completely wrong, every time, yet come back and say the same things i.e. Southgate is clueless, England are clueless and/or lucky. All they do is show how little they understand football

I think in ET we were playing with Eze as a left wing back and Shaw as the centre back. By that point we had Eze, Saka, Bellingham, Foden, Palmer and Toney on the pitch, I'm not sure we had any defensive shape left!
