I'm not sure, but England may have already qualified for the last 16 now.

Makes a mockery really. I've not been following it much and will probably start do so when it gets to the last round of matches and the 16s.

I think they should either have 16 qualifiers or 32. It's nonsense that a team that finishes third goes through with potentially 2 points.
So you mock but you haven't been watching. More fool you. All the games, except England's, have been brilliant, particularly some involving the minnows. I don't think 32 is a nonsense at all. Love their passion. What is a nonsense is the Premier League players playing too many games elsewhere, including their money making tours etc. These sort of tournaments are a joy.

Totally agree, as currently being shown by Romania going toe to toe with Belgium

When you look at how they play tonight, it really is staggering that over the last few years Belgium not only haven’t won a trophy but not even come that close (one SF appearance I believe)

I think it's fair to criticise the format for the number of games it takes to knock out hardly anybody, quite aside from the merit of any matches individually.

It's entertainment. Has it been entertaining? Yes, for me. Does the fact that the minnows think they have a chance to "get through", for more national glory, with this new format motivate them more? Maybe (rather than just be the group whipping boys,.as before).

Semi final in 2018. Very unlucky not to win that as well. I thought it was going to be their year. I remember them turning up as the surprise bundle in the 1980 Euros. That's where it all started

Offside is an 'infraction'. I think they've been reading too much NSC

Seems reasonable. ‘Own goal’ never gets subbed, dropped or injured and has the potential to score for either team, in every single fixture played, for the full 90 minutes.

He was right too, Trossard had done everything right on both occasions in the build up and then went for glory when there was a player with an open goal one quick pass away. He was genuinely angry wasn’t he?
I think genuinely frustrated and exasperated.

I'd hope he'd save "genuinely angry" for when Trossard deliberately runs over his dog, rather than being selfish/a bit shit at football.
