Uefa has ended its legal fight against Barcelona, Juventus and Real Madrid over their involvement in the proposed European Super League.

The clubs were among the 12 "founding" members of the breakaway league, which later collapsed.

The trio, who have refused to renounce the project, were being investigated for "a potential violation" of Uefa's legal framework.

Uefa says it is now "as if the proceedings had never been opened".

Inevitable.

Most of NSC predicted a brave new world of overseas owners handing half their shares to fans groups, of the top 6 having reduced income in a great levelling up.

5 months later:
- Chelsea, ManC, PSG and Manure went on transfer spending sprees.
- Mansour and Abramavich are worshiped by fans as much as ever.
- The Glazer’s sign Ronaldo, Sancho and Varane. The protests die a complete death.

European football is dominated by the same cabal.

For the record, I was and am, against the Super League. Teams like Tottingham and Arsenal need something to dream about. A closed shop where #teamslikebrighton can't get relegated is not the game I started watching in the 1970's (although wouldn't have minded such a rule in1997). :)

…and a ‘fan-led review’ into football, established in the wake of the ESL scandal, has delivered a key recommendation that they want to be allowed to drink beer in the stands.
