Didn't know they did a draw on Monday

It must have been Friday and they were slow in sending the email because I check my e mails at least 3 times a day, every day. They put the money into my on line account then transferred it back to the card that it was paid on.

The odds on winning the Euromillions jackpot are approximately 176 million to one. Imagine 176,000,000 horses in a line, would you rate your chances of picking the right one? Statistically speaking, you're more likely to walk up to a complete stranger in the street and correctly guess their phone number.

So that £4.70 is pretty good.

That being the case I am going to stop doing it as the pay out on low winnings is so poor. I once read that with the national lottery if a person over 60 did their lottery in time for it be included they stood more chance of dieing before the draw than winning, but the lower prizes are better.

Your odds on winning a low-value prize are better with the Euromillions draw than the normal one, but as you rightly point out, the payouts are usually pretty laughable. When I lived in England I only bought a ticket very occasionally, if the mood took me when there was some kind of multiple rollover, but I considered it a fee for being able to daydream about what I'd do with the money (it's not quite the same if you haven't got a ticket). Needless to say, those daydreams usually involve buying an insanely flairtastic player for Gus.
