It’s frustrating, I have tickets to the England v Scotland game on the 18th, three days before the supposed removal of social restrictions. Would have been a great way to celebrate the true beginning of the end of this shit show.

Still, having said that I think that even without the emergence of an as yet unknown complicating factor, I think those dates will slip somewhat anyway.

I have tickets for the Croatia game I am absolutely fuming

Isn't this the typical tabloid prompting? Same thing always happens when two English teams get to a European final, and it never gets changed.

On the UEFA website there are 4 possibilities, one of which will be decided on in March, and having the finals in one country is not one of them.

I think there will be 25% capacities, and they will be local/host country ticket holders

Shirley any reduced attendances would be given to the corporate sponsor friends, family and associates first.

Can’t recall the game but remember reading 40% of tickets at championship a few years back were corporate, terrible really!

So I have tickets to all the England games, Group games, then follow England tickets. I wonder how that will play out if reduced capacities and as others have said corporates are given their "entitlements".

Venues had to submit to UEFA their plans for hosting today. Looks like quarter capacity for most, and some doubts about Dublin.

Personally we had tickets for Bilbao, but we've accepted the inevitable and are going to apply for the refund.

The refund portal closes on 19th April, FYI.

Bilbao looks like it may have gone, or be in serious doubt anyway.

I think Dublin and Germany may be struggling too.

Expect more tosh from the tabloids about it all coming here.

As unfortunate a position as UEFA is in, and as unforeseeable as it might have been when the initial idea of multiple nations hosting games was drawn up, it seems ridiculous now to attempt a pan-European competition. Personally, the most sensible thing to do is draw up a shortlist of three or four nations who look most likely to be capable of safely hosting the event (with few or no fans), make contingency plans for each and then pick a single host much nearer the time - now is simply too far out to be making decisions given how quickly the narrative can change in this pandemic.

On a personal level I'm gutted because I had three tickets to the England v Scotland game. I was taking my 7 year old lad and my dad, who took me to the opening game of Euro 96 as a nipper. It still ranks as one of the greatest days of my life no matter how turgid the game was, so I was looking forward to this three generational long weekend. But sometimes, you just have to accept that things aren't meant to be and stubbornly sticking by plans that have by now become preposterous is just naive in the extreme.

I don't know about others, but having been really exciting for this tournament prior to the pandemic I now really couldn't care less if it went ahead at all.

I was relatively optimistic about fans being able to attend, and travel, until fairly recently. Naively I think I believed vaccination would have allowed a speedier return to normal life.

It's a shame that it won't happen for me and my mates, but there's nothing much we can do about it, and we have pencilled in a trip to Belgium (possibly more beer related) in the Autumn to compensate, so we can't complain too much.

Germany in 2024 promises to be an excellent tournament though, I'll definitely try to go - maybe you can get your family over for that!

Good luck with your Belgium trip (and I mean that optimistically, not sarcastically by the way - I hope it happens!).

Germany 2024 could be amazing if we’re finally done with all this bollocks, although I fancy that as more of a lads trip. Some time ago I earmarked the 2026 World Cup in the US, Canada and Mexico as a potential family road trip in North America. I’d love to make that happen.

Qatar, on the other hand, can fúck off. I’ll find that under ‘couldn’t give a shít’.

Yes, we were planning on bringing the families along for the North America World Cup, finances and pandemics permitting. Lots to look forward to!

22,500 for group games confirmed. (inc 3600 Scottish fans!)

FA want 45,000 for semi and final…

Interesting, I wonder how they'll allocate tickets and whether the mooted 'vaccine passports' will play a part. Going to be tricky logistically as tickets allocated to groups will no doubt include people who have and haven't been vaccinated.

Alternatively, is it more likely there will be a fresh ticket ballot?

Looks like Wembley will take Dublin's second round game, which would feature England if we win the group. In that event, it would mean our route to the final would involve only one game away from Wembley, which I gather would be in Rome.

Does that give us a material advantage? I've been in Wembley with less than 25,000 fans and you can still generate a decent atmosphere, albeit that's with people huddles together more closely than is likely to be the case. I'm still reluctant to predict England winning the tournament despite being favourites with the domestic bookies, however the way things are shaping up I think this is the first tournament in at least a generation whereby you can make a credible case at the outset.

Out in the group stages then...
