Could host the whole tournament in London. Wembley, Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea, QPR, Brentford, Fulham, Charlton, Millwall and Barnet could all be used without having to travel either too far or to Croydon.

Barnet would be perfect for North Macedonia v Scotland.

If you told me in April 2020 that I could live normally and pretty much not give a **** about the virus in July/August, I would have been surprised. Cant really rule out anything yet.

I think London will be the most sensible choice, it's likely of all the major cities in Europe London will have gone furthest in terms of vaccinating its population, plenty of available venues to train and play (given the tournament will be BCD the capacities are not important but they will still want to use the prestige of the PL stadia and Wembley). Plus there are enough training grounds and hotels to ensure each team can quarantine and train within its own sterile covid-secure bubble.

Rumours circulating from pretty reliable sources that UEFA are going to switch the whole of EURO 2020 to England.

Yeap. reducing travel would seem to be the most responsible thing to do.

If they are keeping 11th June, likely to be minimal crowd and possibly few visiting supporters

Be interesting to see what happens - I have tickets for all the England games up to the Final. But some suggestion they will need to completely reballot

The whole torunament should be behind closed doors or in covid secure environments with heavy restrictions on number of supporters and a proper covid code of conduct, recipe for disaster having nearly a full tournament with full or nearly full audiences so soon after restrictions are lifted.

It’s frustrating, I have tickets to the England v Scotland game on the 18th, three days before the supposed removal of social restrictions. Would have been a great way to celebrate the true beginning of the end of this shit show.

Still, having said that I think that even without the emergence of an as yet unknown complicating factor, I think those dates will slip somewhat anyway.

Was't the expansion of the Amex done so that they had enough seats for a full International? If so, and IF the entire thing is played in England, which has been the rumour for quite some time, what chances of a game being played at the Amex. Its held all other levels of International, just the England Mens team to go.

Slim unless they decide it is better to play the whole tournament in the South East as it is likely to have much lower infection rates than much of the Midlands and North West. I'd have thought that if, wrongly in my opinion, they choose to have supporters arttending and as many as possible they will look to maximisew their revenue by picking the biggest 8/10 stadia in the country.

Wembley 90,000
Old Trafford 76,000
Tottingham 63,000
Emirates 61,000
London Stadium 60,000
Anfield 55,000
Etihad 55,000
St James Park 52,000
Stadium of Light 46,000
Villa Park 43,000

They might even consider using Scottish and Welsh stadia (although their lockdown easing is likely to be more cautious and sensible so capacities will be more likely to be heavily restricted).

If things so as planned from 17th May we talking 25% or 10,000 allowed in stadiums.

There is the possibility last 16 could be without restrictions, from where we are today that seems unthinkable

Smallest schedules stadium is/was Copenhagen at 38,000 I think.

The transport links at the Amex are to crappy to host a tournament game for sure...

Surely is could also be in UK instead of England?

There are some great stadiums in the Celtic countries, it would really add to the competition I believe.

However, it’s going to take all of Barber’s undoubted skill and nous to get the Amex on the 12-stadia list!

Think we are still at least one month away from a definite decision on this. But if it gets decided just to play it in one country, there's just three or four candidates that have enough high quality stadiums to host it and England is of course one of those countries.

The government will be doing trials on rapid testing for events before this though, so I'd expect they would love to showcase to Europe pretty full or totally full stadia if the trials go well. I think the FA Cup Final is one trial where I think the attandance whilst not full will be well in excess of 10k if things go well and the roadmap to ending lockdown is on track.

Highly doubtful, one of the main attractions for UEFA is the success of the vaccination programme and the restrictions easing in time for full or nearly full capacity stadiums, which will generate far more money. Scotland and Wales are likely to unwind far more gradually and sensibly than England so I'd expect at best they would have restrictions by the Euros of a low percentage of capacity, and ROI may be even further behind with their vaccination programme much slower.

Football’s coming home.

No evidence of this at all, alas. Apart from one Italian journalist. Who says the decision, which our government know nothing of, would be taken in April.

It's feasible, but the government said recently there were no plans for this to happen.
