I enjoyed it - some great football played.

But I don't think two host nations is a good idea (especially if they're both shite)

Some very entertaining football, thought that the players did their bit and largely behaved themselves...hardly any of the petulance and gamesmanship that seems to plague the Premiership...only three red cards in the whole tournament, that has to be a pretty good record, hopefully some of the overpaid prima-donnas who ply their trade in England will have been paying full attention.

I didnt get to see the semis of final but I thought it was one of the best tournaments I can recall. I agree with most of the previous comments.

This Enland not qualifying thing is quite good isnt it?

Managed to watch more games than usual and enjoyed what I saw. It was quite nice to see other nationalities in pubs cheering on their teams and engaging in banter with English which wouldn't have happened if we had been a part of it. Would have been nice to have England play though.

stupid comment , we were voted fans of the tournament in germany and korea.

didn't you see the violence for the germany v poland game.

Think you need to fast forward from the 80's

Dougal, just wait and see. I just happen to feel trouble from so called England fans always just around the corner. Sorry to be negative.

We also behaved ourselves in Portugal, how many games did you see where England weren't playing and there were St Georges' Crosses on display...from my memory it was pretty much every single one.

I wouldn't say we are home and hosed when it comes to footy violence, it always seems to be bubbling under the surface, but we have made great advances since the dark days...scenes like those witnessed in Charleroi and Dublin are now thankfully rare.

I thought it was GREAT: we could concentrate on some exceptionally FLAIR performances without WANKING over the next/last ENGLAND game. I would be quite happy if England were excluded from ALL major tournaments, to make it more ENJOYABLE in future.

I thoroughly enjoyed it. We were having a discussion at work about it and were trying to remember the last time there was a tournament as good as that - Italia 90 possibly.

Sad to say, not having England there made it slightly better. It's not the team itself that's the problem, it's the complete over-reaction from the media and supporters that spoils it.
